What is being proposed?
Kier Property is bringing forward plans for new 526 new rental homes and commercial space at 4 & 5 Arena Central. The plans will provide much needed new homes in the heart of Birmingham while making a positive contribution to the public realm through the provision of new green public spaces, including Serpentine Walk.
How tall will the buildings be?
Two buildings are proposed at 31 storeys and 18 storeys. These heights are similar to other buildings at Arena Central and in surrounding areas, sitting well within the existing skyline.
How many homes are being proposed?
The proposal includes 526 new homes for rent in a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
What about parking?
The scheme is a car free development with provision only for a blue badge space on street at the entrance level for visitors. There are car spaces within a number of local car parks that are available for residents should they be required. The nearest car club spaces are situated on Swallow street and Suffolk street.
When will the application be submitted?
Following the conclusion of our current round of consultation, we will take time to consider feedback received before submitting a planning application to Birmingham City Council as the relevant Local Planning Authority (LPA) Spring 2026.
